Mondays@7AM

Mondays at 7:00am Kathy on her way to her job at Florida Hospital drops me off at our local Publix Grocery store.  This has become such a routine that the mundane and banal exercise of grocery shopping is a actually a pleasure.ser I have been doing our grocery shopping this way for four years now. Customer in the store are few but saying hello each week gives a neighborhood feel to the supermarket. The employees at our local store are just as friendly and helpful as the television ads say. When I worked for Sony Corporation, Publix Corporation in Lakeland, was a customer of mine. lt   was an experience in Corporate culture that was impressive! Throughout the organization from executives to stock clerks the central purpose of the job its to be helpful and genuinely friendl;. The epitome of a corporate culture I have ever been involved with.

When Your "Fur Pal" Needs a Grooming...

When we lived at The Vue in 2013, We were most fortunate to have been introduced to Sparky'swhen Niles was still with us. Brent, A Dog walker and fellow Vue Resident became a friend & recommended Sparky's to us. This Dog Groomer was a real find. It is only a 30 minute walk from our home and Both Daphne & I  enjoy the walk.  Sparky is really the owner's Yorkie who greets clients faithfully while sitting on the counter.

WHY we live where we live πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘©πŸΎπŸŒ΄

The city of Orlando is usually associated with Theme Parks and Ausements. Many residents love the Parks but as in many cities many residents live in  cookie-cutter subdivisions scattered around the city itself. When the Recession of '08 hit, we were hit  very hard.  hi Change was was imperative. KJ was ready for a new job because opportunity in Lake County. I had survived the brain surgery and subsequent stroke so working was not an option for me KJ found her new job in Orlando so we decided to move to the big city. We had considered Asheville, NC for retirement but soon discovered how COLD it was there in the winter. We were already in Florida, Sunny & warm so we ventured from a small town to actually live in Orlando ( Maitland at first followed by downtown). We enjoyed living in the city and soon decided to prepare for our later years by moving into the actual downtown of the City. Public Transportation is available walking is an option most of the time. Diversity is abundant. Entertainment is everywhere. After a leasing trial for a year and a half we purchased a condominium in the Thornton Park district of Orlando and are enjoying what the short video in this post shows in under 4 minutes. It tells the story better than I so please check it out,
